Norman Buwalda kept all kinds of wild animals on his southwestern Ontario property, including a variety of exotic cats on the farm near Southwold Township. But early in 2010, behind the 66-year-old's farmhouse, a 650-pound pet tiger mauled Buwalda, killing him on his own property. The tiger was later described as a large, fully grown male, though a police constable could not identify the subspecies. Six years before Buwalda's fatal attack, a young boy was mauled by a Siberian tiger on the same farm, though he was not killed.
