Death rattle
One of Australia's deadliest snakes may be an appropriate pet if it's been defanged. But tell that to a then 53-year-old Hazelbrook man, who was twice bitten by his death adder in 2006. Opening its cage to inspect the snake, the venomous death adder struck at the Aussie, nipping him twice on the hand. Despite two doses of anti-venom, the man had to be placed in an induced coma by doctors, but was expected to make a full recovery.
