Publisher: Activision
Developer: Beenox
For: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC
Release date: Jun. 26

The best thing about the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man game, developed by Quebec's Beenox, is that we don't have to wait long for it - it's coming out at the end of June. The new game is based in the same world as the movies and is an epilogue to this summer's Amazing Spider-Man reboot. While the Lizard is the main villian in the film, the game will carry on the plot of the movie, which will feature biological hybrid creatures developed by Oscorp. Spider-Man himself, it turns out, is one of these creatures. In the demo shown at E3, he battled it out with another such super-powered individual, the Rhino. The second-best thing about the new Spider-Man game is that, after some recent departures in previous titles, it brings the web-slinger back to Manhattan. Beenox has also redesigned everything about the way our hero looks and moves, with the game's camera now sitting much closer to Spidey. His web-swinging, meanwhile, is much faster and acrobatic, similar to how he moves in the movies. The game also looks fantastic, so you get a great sense of speed and adrenaline when swinging between buildings. And as an extra bonus, there are comic book pages hidden in and around Manhattan. Collecting them all unlocks full comic books that can be read on your television screen.
