Avg. user minutes spent per month: 3
If there was going to be one name on the Internet to challenge the incumbent social network boss, certainly you'd think it could be Google, which launched its Google + site with much hope last June*. Yet after encouraging numbers late last year, the online society run by Google, whose search engine is the most-visited site in the entire world, is trending in the wrong direction. According to comScore, users of Google +, which has some 100 million members, spent 5.1 minutes on the site last November, but that figure dipped to 4.8 minutes in December and fellfurther to just over three minutes in the first month of 2012.
*Google + opened to everyone over the age of 18 on Sept. 20, 2011.
